In 2013 The Grocery Foundation conducted some research of Canadians, one of the facts it uncovered is that 88 per cent of Canadians report they are more inclined to help a charity if they know they are making a difference.1

Funds raised through the Toonies for Tummies program benefit a number of organizations in Ontario, in Atlantic Canada, as well as programs with a national footprint. The programs include the Ontario Student Nutrition Program in Ontario, Breakfast Club of Canada, Breakfast for Learning and Boys and Girls Clubs that are involved in providing snacks and meals to school-aged children including large city centres, remote rural communities and First Nations Reserves.

According to these partners:

During the 2012-13 school year, over 695,000 school-age children and youth in Ontario benefited from more than 4,200 breakfasts programs.

According to the Breakfast Club, over to 152,000 students have access to a nutritious breakfast each morning in 1,328 schools across Canada. In 2013 The Club served over 24 million breakfasts to students in school.

When you are in store in Ontario you will find more information on the need in your community/region. You will also see the amount of funds your store is looking to raise and/or has raised during this year’s campaign. We also invite you to visit our Toonie Tracker to learn more about where the monies raised are going in the vicinity of your store/home.

Remember a Toonie does make a difference, donate today.
